Are you having trouble locating a dependable supplier for the items that you plan to sell? Join the crowd; most new sellers go through this exact problem as a part of successfully starting and growing their businesses.

Start by examining the product sourcing options that are available to help you in your quest to make money on eBay. You can create your own products. You may also have some favorite suppliers for your hobbies and interests that you could use. You could contract to have products manufactured for you. You could become an importer and actually import the products that you sell yourself. You could locate wholesale suppliers to provide the products. Finally you could look for secondary market sources such as liquidations and closeouts for your products. There are many other sources of products each with distinctive advantages and disadvantages.

After you eliminate the potential product suppliers that do not meet your needs, move forward to begin researching those that may. Locating the right supplier involves doing your homework. You are better positioned to make money on eBay when you conduct research regarding the pricing of products, as well as the reliability of the supplier.

Thoroughly examine each supplier that you are considering. Look into product pricing, whether the supplier will allow products that they sell to be sold on eBay, and the reputation of wholesale company itself. Remember that your product supplier is one of the keys to your success. Remember that your product supplier strongly influences whether you will make money on eBay or not. Patiently and thoroughly investigate a supplier before you make a commitment to start buying.

To Your eBay Success!

To read my free e-report "Dropship Facts" check outhttp://www.onlineauctionsmadesimple.net Bob Hamilton is an entrepreneur, writer and consultant. What you choose to sell can make all the difference and very few people ever target the right products and they end up not making much money. Essentially there are two approaches: you can either sell a lot of products for a small profit or you can sell fewer products, but with a bigger profit margin. With the increase in online sales, combined with a renewed interest in Ebay, finding the best products to sell on Ebay need not be such an arduous task.

Regardless of which approach you chose to follow, you need to ensure that there is a demand for what you want to sell. Trading is all about demand and supply. With a high demand and a low supply prices tend to be high as the perceived value of an item is high. If the supply was to increase the prices will fall as the perceived value will be lower. When it comes to finding the best products to sell on Ebay, gauging the supply and demand chain is a vital step in determining the perceived value of a product. When it comes to highly sought after items like tickets to the Pink Floyd reunion concert, the demand can become so high that prices skyrocket. This is where Ebay is incredibly powerful and popular.

The first step then to find the best products to sell on Ebay, is look for the demand – what are people looking for online and what are they willing to spend money on? Head over to Amazon.com and select any category. On the right hand side you will see the ten most popular items and if you like you can even have all the products in that category displayed by popularity. This will give you a good idea of what people are actually buying online.

Next you need to head over to Ebay Pulse (www.pulse.ebay.com) to see what’s most popular on Ebay. Select the same category as you did in Amazon and look for matches. What you are looking for is to see whether people are buying the same popular products on Ebay. Most of the time you will see at least three to five matches. You can do more demand research by heading over to other shopping sites, but for now we can be pretty certain that there is a demand on our three to five product possibilities.

Next, we need to check the supply. For this we will pretend to be a shopper on Ebay. Start by doing a wide search on Ebay and take note of what's on offer. If you found Pink PSP Console to be your hot product, start your search with PSP and then narrow it down. Of special interest would be the going rate, the amount of products on offer and whether they are Ebay shops or just private resellers. Private sellers usually pose little threat to you as they only sell one product at a time and they tend to sell used, damaged or one-off products.

Note down all those products being sold by Ebay store owners and check their item price, their shipping costs and their overall presentation and guarantees. We need to beat at least one of these and not just offer the same thing. The real question then is can we find the same products for a good price? Head over to SaleHoo and search for the product from the wholesale suppliers listings. Compare these prices to the prices of the store owners – can you beat them on price? Can you at least offer the same price and try and beat them on the presentation or shipping?
As you can see this process is pretty quick, but will save you a lot of money in the end. In an hour you can probably research ten items and find five good ones to sell. There are just so many products out there and if something doesn't match the above mentioned criteria, just move onto the next one.

Finding the best products to sell on Ebay is not rocket science. By following the simple principle of supply and demand you can uncover those hidden gems, but you have to go and look for them. Don't just assume that a product is popular and that it will do well on Ebay. This can be a costly mistake. Do the groundwork and success on Ebay will be yours.

Article by Deon Du PlessisTo learn more about wholesale products and where to find the best deals, go to
http://www.sincere-advice.com/auction_succss.html to learn more about where to find the best wholesale products that you can resell on Ebay.

How to Make Money Selling on eBay - Product Sourcing

By Bob Hamilton

When talking with those who want to know how to make money on ebay, one of the most frequently asked questions is about finding products to sell. Most newer sellers are first worried about identifying the types of products to sell. Once that is decided, they almost immediately begin to worry about where they can find those products.

If you have identified your market niche and products, that’s the time to begin your search for product suppliers. You are looking for a supplier that will be able to regularly and reliably supply quality products at a price that affords you a profit.

Now is the time for you to become very focused, persistent, and even aggressive. Start contacting manufacturing, wholesale, distribution and liquidation companies listed under the product lines that you propose to sell. Be sure to start with the local phone book.

After exhausting local sources, move on to internet searches. These searches always yield many, many options. So far, without exception, using these two steps has yielded multiple suppliers for our eBay business. Other great ways to locate suppliers includes:

• Visit local retailers who carry the products that you propose to sell. Check product tags and you will usually find the manufacturer AND/OR distributor names and locations. That information will likely yield more supplier options for you to consider.

• Examine major trade centers for suppliers. Just a few examples: Chicago, Los Angeles, New York. The list goes on from there! Simply examine phone books and online directories for your chosen city, and you will likely find many more suppliers for your consideration.

• Trade shows are an outstanding source of suppliers. Locate trade shows for your chosen products. Attend the next show and you will likely be amazed at the huge number of supplier options.

• Importers are still another great source. It may take a little research, but direct importers of your chosen products may be just the right solution to your product source challenge.

• Become an importer yourself. While many of us may be limited by quantity requirements and the actual dollar investment requirement, this is another great option to examine. I have done importing. Be sure that you consider the costs (cost of money tied up in inventory, storage costs, inventory insurance, etc) of carrying the large inventory that is typically required until it is sold. Some options are to split quantities with other companies, reduced load sizes, etc. Be creative and see what you can negotiate.

Don’t be afraid to make many contacts. It is likely that you will need to contact several suppliers before you locate the best possible pricing and service. Remember: If the eBay prices you are seeing are higher than the supplier's pricing, you may have the ability to make a profit. Buying and selling for a profit is how to make money selling on ebay!

No matter what product you provide, be sure that you know the quality of that product before you begin selling it. Poor quality never wins. In fact inferior quality is likely to become a major drain on your time, your earnings, and ultimately your eBay success.

To your eBay success!

Wholesale Products For EBay Sellers

By Donny Lowy

Wholesaler products are a perfect component of every eBay seller’s business.

eBay sellers need wholesale products to expand their business, since their initial inventory usually only consists of personal items which they have had lying around the house.

As their eBay business develops they find that they need a steady source for wholesale products which they can offer on eBay.

So how does an eBay seller procure wholesale products for his business?

There are five steps that every eBay seller should take when looking for wholesale products.

1. Determine the direction of his eBay business.

Just because the eBay seller started out selling used clothing, doesn’t mean that she wants to build an eBay business selling used clothing.

2. Decide whether the eBay business will be based on volume or price.

eBay sellers need to decide if they will be looking to conduct allot of auctions for low priced merchandise, or if instead they will be selling fewer, but higher priced items.

3. Investigate the eBay marketplace.

The eBay seller needs to investigate and see if there is a viable market for the wholesale products he would like to sell. A good indication would be the number of similar items sold.

4. Search online for sources for wholesale products.

eBay sellers can use wholesale search engines such as www.wholesalecentral.com and www.wholesalequest.com

5. Test out the market.

eBay sellers should test out the eBay marketplace by placing a small order and trying to sell the items they have ordered. There is no better indicator than actual experience.

Finding Products to Sell on eBay

By Nowshade Kabir

Do you know how many people in US are earning their livelihood with the help of eBay? According to a new survey conducted on July 2005 by ACNielsen, a leading research firm, an astounding 724 thousand Americans respond that they rely on eBay for their main or supplemental income. Apart from these professional sellers, another 1.5 million people confirmed that they generate additional income by selling goods on eBay. Last year alone, around 150 million registered users have sold over US$ 34 billion worth of goods on eBay. Isn’t it amazing?

Why entrepreneurs are flocking into eBay? Some of the reasons are quite apparent.

• Starting a business on eBay is easy and quick

• You don’t require large investment

• Anybody can start an eBay business, no special skill is required

• You can sell virtually anything on eBay

• With your eBay business you can have flexible work time

• You have a ready-made market of over 150 million people and counting

• eBay get 1.5 billion page views each month. You get access to this massive traffic almost paying nothing.

So, there is no wonder that anybody with slightest penchant to have their own business will jump into this great opportunity. But, there are two major problems that many of the would-be eBay sellers encounter. The first is what to sell and the next is where to find it.

What to sell?

According to Forrester Research, a major research company, this year, categories with products purchased by women will have the most growth in online retailing. Some categories are already getting more than ten percent of their overall sales through the Internet, which include: computer hardware and software, tickets, travel, books, consumer electronics, cosmetics and fragrances, toys and video games, and flowers, cards and gifts. While choosing items to sell on eBay, you should also explore the features available on eBay and other places on the Internet that show items people search and items people actually buy.

eBay has a complete section called “Seller Central” dedicated to delivering utmost information to help you succeed in selling products through eBay. Two links from this section should interest you. One is What’s Hot (http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/whatshot.html) and the other one is Category Tips (http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/sellbycategory.html).

When you go to the subsection ‘What’s Hot’, check out the following three areas:

Hot Items by Category

This is a comprehensive report of categories, and products within a category by the ratio of bid to listings growth rate in PDF format. The report gets updated monthly and shows which products have increased demand in comparison to last month. Super hot products, for example, have over 35 percentage point difference between bid growth rate and listing growth rate. According to the latest report, by the way, Sunglasses for men, in particular Prada sunglasses are super hot.

eBay Pulse

This is another area where you can see the top ten searched categories, ten most widely watched auctions, list of stores with most active listings, and other cool stuffs on daily basis.

eBay Summer Catalog

This is a new subsection. It’s a real catalog with pictures and average price of products. In each category of products there is a list of top ten summer trends. You, definitely, should check this out if you are planning to start selling now.

In Demand

On the page “Category Tips” under each category you will see a link under the name “In Demand”. This area will show you a list of ten most sold items of this category as well as most searched items for each subcategory.

You might also like to see what people buy on non-eBay part of the Internet. The Shopping.com Consumer Demand Index (CDI) (http://www.shopping.com/CDI/cdi.cmp) makes a weekly list of most sought after items. This list could give you the needed glimpse to the future market trend!

Where to find items to sell on eBay

Your own home

If you are just planning to start selling on eBay, your first option is to go through your attic, closets and garage. Find those long stashed items that you will probably never need. These may include: books that you will perhaps never read, CDs that you out grew, gifts that you received but did not like much, the list can go on! Take them out, brush them off and post them on eBay for sell.

Flea markets and garage sales

Every body knows that garage sales and flea markets can be real treasure troves! Well, now you can look at them from a business point of view. Your sales experience with own home items, hopefully, will help you understand what will sell well and what won’t. Don’t go for any costly items as yet.

Local liquidators and auctions

Classified sections of local Newspapers’ week-end editions are good place to look for estate auctions.
